Beginning Biblical Hebrew

This study group is designed to enable participants to begin reading the Hebrew Scriptures in Hebrew and to continue developing greater expertise in biblical Hebrew. No previous experience with biblical Hebrew is necessary. This course focuses on the development of several sets of skills: pronunciation of the Hebrew script, a simple understanding of the phonology, weekly increase in vocabulary, complete mastery of certain aspects of the grammar system, and exposure to other aspects of the grammar. The course includes approximately two hours of weekly homework.

The course requires a standard textbook and workbook (approx. cost $60): 

- Pratico and Van Pelt. Basics of Biblical Hebrew: Grammar, Zondervan. (edition TBD)

- Pratico and Van Pelt. Basics of Biblical Hebrew: Workbook, Zondervan (edition TBD).
