Faith & Film "No Other Land"

  • First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley 94704 (map)

No Other Land is a powerful, on-the-ground documentary that follows Palestinian communities in the West Bank as they struggle to remain on their land amid ongoing displacement and conflict. Co-created by Palestinian and Israeli activists, the film offers a rare, deeply human portrait of life under pressure, as well as an unexpected story of friendship and shared moral courage across dividing lines.

The film has also generated significant international attention and controversy, with strong reactions from different communities about its portrayal of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and the perspectives it centers. For some, it is a necessary witness to injustice; for others, it raises challenging questions about representation and narrative. As we watch together, we’re invited into a thoughtful and respectful space to engage difficult realities—reflecting on themes of justice, dignity, truth-telling, and what it means to listen well and seek peace in a divided world.

2024, 92 minutes, directed by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor
