AI & Faith
AI and Faith is a pluralist organization seeking to equip and encourage people of faith to bring faith-based wisdom to the ethical moral and ethical issues around artificial intelligence. Because of NCB’s increasing engagement with the AI question, AI & Faith has represented a valuable network of talking partners (and guest presenters).
AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC AFFILIATION (ASA)
The ASA is a professional and scholarly society of Christians engaged at the intersection of faith and science, very much a “third space” of inquiry that resonates deeply with NCB’s mission and values. We converse, co-participate and co-sponsor activities, e.g. about the impact of machine intelligence technology and their impact on human communities.
CENTER FOR THEOLOGY & THE NATURAL SCIENCES (CTNS)
The CTNS, a program of the Graduate Theological Union, is dedicated to the creative mutual interaction of science and religion through research, teaching and public service. One of our most active partners within the Union, the CTNS has co-sponsored events with NCB particularly around a few of the key ethical issues of artificial intelligence.
CONSORTIUM OF CHRISTIAN STUDY CENTERS (CCSC)
The CCSC fans the flame of the study center movement by providing consulting, training, and other resources to dozens of Christian Study Centers located at universities throughout North America. As one of the movement’s progenitors, NCB maintains an active, mutually-generative, relationship within the Consortium.
INTERVARSITY GRADUATE & FACULTY MINISTRIES (GFM)
InterVarsity GFM is an interdenominational, evangelical campus ministry dedicated to building witnessing communities among graduate students and faculty in universities across the country. GFM has therefore been a strategic partner in fostering connections among local universities and other campus-related ministries, such as the Veritas Forum.
LEADERSHIP FOUNDATIONS (LF)
The LF vision is that cities around the world be transformed into places of shalom where “men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets…each with cane in hand” and where “city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there (Zechariah 8:4-5).” NCB is an emerging member and biblical imagination partner within the LF network.
LILLY ENDOWMENT, INC
The Lilly Endowment is a private philanthropic foundation supporting community development, education and religion. Whether directly or through intermediaries, NCB has received support from the Lilly Endowment for our work of spiritual formation, cohort learning and writing initiatives. We are deeply grateful for their support.
LOWELL BERRY FOUNDATION
This East Bay philanthropy supports organizations dedicated to strengthening leadership of the local church and also those providing a safety net for needs in the local community. Because NCB is dedicated to strengthening the public witness of congregations, the Lowell Berry Foundations has long-supported our work, for which we are deeply grateful.
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. RESEARCH & EDUCATION INSTITUTE
Building upon the achievements of Stanford University's Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project, the King Institute supports a broad range of educational activities illuminating Dr. King's life and the movements he inspired. NCB has co-participated with the Institute through cohort-related programming and writing workshop initiatives.
